In today's automatic and rapid running world where everyone is using robots and computers and other automation techniques to get their work done, by constantly associating with machines one also becomes like machine and forgets the human touch, also one starts expecting robot like reciprocation from others. But we are not robots and God has not created us to be like robots, He has given us lots of choices and different individual likings. A good genuine dealing with other can have a lot of power, what's the quality that all successful people have in common? They have mastered the art of dealing with people! The doctors, the lawyers, the salespersons who enjoys the most success are not necessarily the ones who are the most skilled in their job. The husband and wife are the happiest are not ones who are most attractive. It's all about good dealing.
Just imagine you are sick and your friend is supposed to give you treatment, he is providing you medications but with abusive and aggressive words, will you feel nice? No, off course not, but on the other hand if you have caring gentle mother who has great love and affection for you, you will feel so nice in her presence and you will get cured soon. It's said 'A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy reaps friendship and he who plants kindness gathers love'. Showing kindness and affection doesn't costs much but it gives much returns in terms of blessings and good wishes. A good dealing can heal our wounds physically also and emotionally also by treating our broken relationships.
Our scriptures gives the various examples of kind dealings not only with human but with animals too. Lord Ram listened to the dog and gave dog a justice, Maharaj Shibi who offered his own flesh as a food for eagle, Maharaj Rantidev when he was about to break a fast, a brahmana came to whom he offered part of food, later approached by dogs and low class person for food, he shared with them too, later all of them revealed their demigod form to Rantidev and were greatly pleased with his dealings with everyone. Lord Krsna also talks in Bhagavad Gita, "He by whom no one is put into difficulty, who is kind to everyone is very dear to me."
More than food, people need love and care, so let's share our care and become dear to God by having affectionate dealings with everyone including beasts and birds!!
