Who is your ideal Kanhopatra or Cleopatra ??

All of us must have heard about Cleopatra VII often called as Cleopatra ,she was last queen of Egypt, she ruled an empire that included Egypt, Cyprus ,Libya and middle east .she was dethroned by her brother who wanted the sole rights to rule kingdom she went to exile ,it was Caesar who helped her to kill both of her  brothers ,then she developed intimacy with Caesar and married to him who was 30 years old to her and gave birth to a child , eventually she also killed her own sister to have whole right to rule kingdom .now in Egypt she was enjoying the position of goddess ,after the murder of Caesar she united with Antony to protect her kingdom and eventually married with Antony who was 40 years older to her and gave birth to 3 childrens . even after enjoying so much power she was totally unsatisfied and killed herself by inducing an Egyptian cobra to bite her ...thus ends her story of passion to acquire power by any means  but that only resulted in so much pain and agony and ultimately  suicide .

Now let's see who was Kanhopatra ,most of you must be hearing her name 1 st time .she was pure devotee of Lord Vitthal.she was daughter of prostitute named Shama ,who didn't know who was the father of kanhopatra ,such a pitiable condition ,kanhopatra was beautiful like apsara ,she learned dancing and singing soon became expert but she was unwilling to continue the profession of her mother she wanted to marry with person who is immortal and who is beautiful that millions of cupids and he is lord Vitthal ,she left her mother and followed the Varkaris soon reached Pandharpur, she took darshan  and offer her body ,mind, heart to Vitthal .she married with Lord Vitthal and started serving in temple  ,soon her glories of beauty, dancing and singing reached till Bidar Sultan and sultan wanted to have her .he sent his soldiers to capture her forcefully. Soldiers came to Vitthal Rukmini mandir they ordered Kanhopatra if you refuse to come with us we shall destroy temple. She agreed  on the basis of allowing once to meet with lord Vitthal, soldiers allowed her ,she came in front of Lord and started offering her intense prayers

She was praying -protect me I don't want to enjoy with anyone I am yours, help me protect my chastity .
And then surprise to everyone's eyes she entered into the feet of Lord Vitthal ,some say she died at the Feet of Lord and then lord told the pujaris to burry her inside the temple premises . she is the only one saint whose samadhi is inside temple ,when she was buried  immediately one Tarati tree grown up at that place.
Till date today we find this tree inside the temple and its ritual while going for darshan of Lord Vitthal one need to seek the blessings of Kanhopatra.

Now choice is ours whom to follow ,the lady who did everything to enjoy power and position  and committed suicide or the lady Who offered Everything to Vitthal without wanting to enjoy anything .
let us pray to kanhopatra's feet so that we can also attain similar devotion unto Lord Vitthal.

Kanhopatra ki jai.....

Your offence will fence your progress

Fence have many meanings like barrier ,enclosed area, stoppage or obstacle .here we will take the meaning of fence as an obstacle. also we will focus especially on vaishnava offence because its considered to be the most serious offence among  all the offences. Vaishnava aparadh is 1st offence unto the holyname of krsna.
Srila Narottam Das Thakur prays in his song ' Prayers To Vaishnava' that
"hari-sthāne aparādhe tāre hari-nām
tomā sthāne aparādhe nāhi paritrāṇ"

"The holy name delivers one who has committed an offense to Lord Hari. But, if one commits an offense to you, there is no means of deliverance."
Mahaprabhu would call vaishnav aparadh as Hati Mata aparadh - the mad elephant offence , as a mad elephant may trample all the plants in garden , so by commuting one offence at lotus feet of vaishnava one may spoil all the devotional service he has accumulated in his life .

Krishna can tolerate  offence unto him but he can't forgive someone who offends vaishnava, we can learn this from examples of Durvasa muni who offended Ambarish, Gopal chapal who offended Srivas thakur . One can not escape from results of  vaishnava offence by doing extra rounds or some austerity one need to beg forgiveness from that particular devotee who is offended. Both above mentioned examples had to go and beg forgiveness from Ambarish and Srivas Thakur respectively then they were forgiven by Lord. Harinam chintamani says, " If by chance one commits vaishnava aparadha then he must beg forgiveness from vaishnava very earnestly holding his feet. A vaishnava is very merciful so he will immediately embrace him and forgive him for all offences ."
Prabhpuad once said one should maintain fearful attitude which means careful attention while dealing with Krishna and His devotees, he also said actual business of devotee is to appreciate the value of other devotees and nobody should criticize anyone.
So let's have careful dealings with everyone so that soon we reach desired goal, Krsna Prema.

*Don't take Grant Road For Granted*

For most of us Grant Road is known as nearest station to reach Radha Gopinath mandir, Today is Radha Gopinath's  appearance day 28 years before they appeared for us,we will be discussing here not about  only grant road station but also other forms or things that can be used for reaching Radha Gopinath  such as Books, devotees, prasad, holy name and how we take them for granted and off course how to avoid this bad tendency .

Taking things granted means to use, accept  in careless or indifferent manner , after passing few years near temple or in rich association of devotees we starts taking things for granted as if we will be eternal to have those things, when things are in abundance we take them for granted rather enriching our soul by their presence  and when things to practice lack we become miserable, I know many of my friends who left k.c. because of no association available but also because they didn't take proper association when they were in rich association, few days back I was talking to disciple of Radhanath Maharaja from one country  and he was telling me about how much he like to hear from Maharaja and whenever maharaja comes there he never misses his classes and always take shelter of his lectures and association  seriously, I was just thinking although I am living so close to Radha Gopinath temple where maharaja spends his most of the time but  so many lectures of his I have missed for silly reasons because I took things granted.

How many of us take holy name for granted while chanting , we decide while chanting that today I will chant carelessly but from tomorrow I will be serious, I will wake up early I with read about holy name and will chant 16 rounds in one sitting but from tomorrow.

How many of us take books for granted. We decide we will start reading SP books tomorrow and we keep postponing things.

And what to say  of devotees sometimes we treat them so badly by our words and behaviour as if they don't have any feeling and they  will be with us eternally ,no, understand their glories appreciate them now else we will surely regret.

How to avoid taking things granted-- by reading and hearing constantly we understand the glories of  things related to krsna such as holy name, books ,his devotees and so many other things. When we understand glories then we will appreciate. Lets Read glories of holy name before chanting, observe senior devotees and their dealing with their godbrothers and how they take shelter of books , Radhanath Maharaja says "we should be grateful for every breath we take", now what to say of so many opportunity we have got to practice k.c. in blissful way so let's be grateful now and practice seriously else we will become fools in hand of Maya.

*Follow a Sadguru not a Sad Guru*

Bhagvatam says no one should be guru unless he can free his disciple from birth and death, But we see so many people on the name of spirituality fool their followers and followers also don't have commonsense to understand that they are being be-fooled. So here we will be discussing about 2 types of gurus Sadguru a true guru and Sad Guru a miserable one.

Sad means sorrowful ,unhappy due to unfulfilled expectations and desires ,there are so many so-called gurus in world especially in India they  become guru as if they have started a new business and start looting disciples, disciples are also foolish that they happily spend their money on these bogus gurus and  people  thinking it to be Guru dakshina. But still they remain unsatisfied and dejected because they can't control their desires and always miserable(off course they show plastic smile on face), some of them are found to have illicit relations with their followers, so shameful.

How to know who is SadGuru ? Prabhpuad says a so- called guru will offer only material benefits, they will ensure their disciples that I am God and you can also become God,
So first criteria is to check  guru is coming in proper parampara or not ? In December 2015 while distributing prabhpuad books we met with one person who started telling us that how Narad Muni is God ( by the way none of scriptures say like that),then he told us my guru is about to become God soon, we started laughing by hearing this new philosophy  but he was serious we were just thinking how this poor fellow is totally brain washed by his so-called guru that he is taking Narad muni as God and preaching this philosophy fearlessly. What is the jihadi and terrorist all about? Same thing, following a bogus person blindly.

Second criteria is that guru should have highest realization of God (Bhagvan) ,not that he is dedicated to Brahman  or something else like material prosperity, so called guru keep talking of material prosperity and keep giving different mantras to their followers to recover material conditions of life also many of them are interested in some magic. only real guru can convince disciple that life is meant for self realizations not for material enjoyments.

Third criteria is that genuine guru has full faith in scripture(real scripture like Bhagvad Gita and Bhagavatam not concocted scriptures) that by serving God everything can be achieved,he is the best of all renunciate because he know how to use everything in service of God.

So don't jump into guru-disciple relationship blindly as Prabhpuad would say first examine guru, his life and teaching then follow him.

*Pokémon is poking You to Mourn*

After months of anticipation Pokémon Go is now available for everyone in the world. For those who don't know anything about Pokémon Go- it's a location based augmented reality mobile game developed by USA based software company Niantic, they have been working for development of this game from past 9 years and at last they are becoming successful by making people crazy, in this game we need to collect virtual Pokémon from different places. We need to go in search of them, to collect 151 Pokemons is the aim of player. Many people said that they started venturing out by coming out of  their comfort zone in search of Pokémon as it not possible to play game inside home. People have forgotten everything food, study, sleep and they are collecting Pokémon( virtual being which never exist in reality).
And its surprises to me that why maximum Pokémon are located where people gather more in number such as temples, mosque, highways, schools and colleges why?? So that people will be distracted and remain away from realistic world. We can observe the people, they are just with their mobile and collecting Pokémon. Its just a start of game later there will be competition amongst the players.

I just heard weird news that 2 young lads entered the house of one person in midnight in search of Pokémon and man shot both of them thinking that they are thieves searching something everywhere.

How this games can take away one from realistic world can be seen by example of boy praying for safety of Pokémon which are in Syria and other ISIS dominated countries, he has forgotten the people who are actually suffering there but asking the world to come for Pokémon's rescue. One player drove onto cop car because Pokémon was located there and there are so many incidences like this which made people mourn on the death of relatives due to addiction to this game. By the this is just a start now, soon there will be competitions amongst the players and I am wondering what will happen when players starts competing ??

From above examples we can see that people are taking imaginary being and world so seriously forgetting the real one, our own soul, our own self, its just like taking dream of tiger's chasing seriously and start running actually. Our soul, our heart will be fulfilled when we are connected with God only, as fish is happy when its in water and not by providing luxuries and artificial needs, it's real need is ocean, similarly soul's real need is to be in the ocean of devotional service of God where he will be always happy else he will be always mourning even one may provide everything for enjoyment.

*Lessons from Satyakam Jabali and Kabali*

Kabali which released on Friday, has created history by becoming the biggest Indian opener of all time, film was released in more than 10000 screens all over the world. Till now movie has earned Rs 400 crore. Movie primarily deals with fight of Kabali ( Rajnikanth) for the rights of Tamil Malaysian and as usual happy ending when Kabali meets his wife after 25 years, more than plotline of movie what attracted the people is Kabali's entry, his dialogues, his actions and his dance, his style. As soon as he makes his entry people starts offering Aarti and prasad to the screen.

On the other hand we have Satyakam Jabali, whose story comes in ancient vedic text Chandogya Upanisad, who left the home at very young age in search of God, he met with sage Gautama, who tested him in various ways, Jabali passed all the test and Gautama gave all necessary knowledge to him which will free one from illusions of the world. Later for the benefit of common people Jabali wrote upanishad also and later he departed for spiritual world, the real happy end.

What we can learn from above 2 stories :
1) Every living entity has a propensity to worship someone, adore someone, follow and love someone. But if this tendency not used in service of God one will worship or adore any mortal being. Our love can be fully satisfied when it is reposed in God.
2) worshipper of superstars forget that he is also common person like us and he also has limitations, they keep unrealistic expectations from him and get disappointed, except God no one can fulfill our expectations, He is unlimited and never disappoints anyone.
3) Happy ending is only in movie, real life is full with anxiety and struggles, but devotee's life also has happy ending, because he know at the end of life he will be in the world free on anxiety and struggles (Vaikuntha).
4) movies and cinamas and other things are only entertain us and sometimes they give teachings, but scriptures like Upanisad ( especially Gitopanisad, commonly known as Gita), Ramayan and other not only entertain and teach us but purify our heart too.

So the choice is ours Jabali or Kabali....

*Pyar Ke Side Effects....*

Apparently from so many years Bollywood and Hollywood and other so many local woods movies has disgraced the meaning of Pyar(Love),
on the name of love they offers us sensuality, and awaken our passionate desires. Scriptures like Chaitanya Charitamrita gives us the real meaning of love, it says, "The desire to gratify one's own senses is kāma [lust], but the desire to please the senses of Lord Kṛṣṇa is prema [love]", from above quotation we understand that so called love in today's world is simply lust(exploitative tendency) but packaged as love. Many times I wonder why they say, " I love you", they should say, " I lust you",  because their intention is not love(serve) but lust(exploitation), After getting bombarded with such movies one starts searching for person who will satisfy his sensual desires on the name of love, but this so called love keeps the heart burning and never gets satisfied by any amount of sensual pleasures provided. One can remain away from this lust when one understand its consequences, just like when one understand nature and effects of poison he keeps himself away from it. Krsna in Gita calls lust as eternal enemy of soul.

When one falls in so called love (lust), one goes through following 5 side effects as explained by our scriptures very well,
1) Mohan (infatuation)- this is primary stage, which causes one to get fascinated by form of opposite sex. Its said that first glance is innocence second deliberate and third is prey.
2) Stambhana ( stunned) - one forgets everything and focus on that person.
3) Unmadana (becomes mad)- one becomes intoxicated by activities and form of opposite sex and one goes mad many times.
4) Shoshan - one's whole energy is sucked in thought of lover due to intense attraction.
5) Tapan (burning) - and due to unfulfilled expectations heart burns.
Last and the worst is Maran( death) - one kills oneself and the lover when there is denial in reciprocation from lover and unfulfillment of desires, we have seen so many examples of people killing themselves and their lover or attacking lover.

So let's examine ourselves that if at all we are in lust, at what stage we are now ? And how to avoid the progressive stages, so that we can cultivate pure love for God and His children and remain away from side effects of lust.

*What makes you ugly in the eyes of others ?*

What is that which make us ugly? The polluted city, dust particles, our  ultraviolet sun rays or cosmetics full of chemicals, no, none of these things makes us ugly but polluted heart and lust particles present in heart makes us ugly in the eyes of others and people starts avoiding us although we may be handsome or beautiful with deodorants sprayed all over the body
, and as it is physical beauty is time dependent, one day there will be wrinkles on the body even though we may use best of cosmetics, the beauty which remains with us eternally is our attitude, and the divine qualities. Let's discuss in detail the ugliness present withing us.

1) Self absorption- we focus on ourselves, we talk about our own greatness, no one wants to be friend with someone who cares about themselves.

2) Always in mood of competition- we want to be on top, if someone says, "I got 67% in exam", don't say, "I had 76%", instead say, "wow that's really amazing, proud of you friend."

3) Bossy nature- if you are in mood of being incharge always and you are the one who always want to make decisions or trying to control  over the others, then there are chances that will make you unattractive.

4) Rudeness and Crudeness- people don't want to be around with someone who is impolite, offensive and uses harsh language, be little refined not crude.

5) Negativity- if you are always putting things and people down, taking them in wrong way, or seeing situations in negative way(pessimism) is also main reason which makes you ugly. Try to see positive qualities in them and encourage people.

Now the question is how to deal with this ugliness?? The God is all attractive because of His qualities, and that's why His name is Krishna(One who attracts everyone).  Bhagavatam says, "As one becomes devotee of Lord, divine qualities of demigods starts automatically getting manifested into him.", just like God attracts everyone to Him, similarly devotees of God also attract people towards them by their genuine devotion and pure heart. So let's become Devotees of God so that we can become beautiful in the eyes of others and get rid of our ugliness.
